When our members face difficult times, SAFE is here to help them with empathy and friendly services.
The current federal government shutdown is leading some in our community to face uncertainty. We want our members to know we are here to support them during this time.
Furloughed Government Employees
SAFE offers a range of services for our members who are furloughed government employees. Please call our Contact Center or visit a branch to learn more about available options.
Quick Access Loans
SAFE offers $1,000 loans to members to help bridge financial gaps. These loans come with rates lower than most credit cards and offer flexible repayment options. Members can apply for the loans through the SAFE Mobile App, Online Banking, through the Contact Center, or by visiting a branch.
Emergency Skip-A-Pay
Eligible members affected by the shutdown may qualify for the emergency Skip-A-Pay program for auto loans and credit cards. The emergency program allows members to skip payment for a month and waives the $25 fee. Finance charges will continue to accrue during the Skip-A-Pay period. To access this program, members can call SAFE’s Contact Center or visit a branch.
SAFE Shopping+
To help get some money back on purchases, we offer SAFE Shopping+ for all SAFE members with a deposit account. This service lets members buy digital gift cards through the SAFE Mobile App or Online Banking, earning up to 30% cash back on every gift card they buy. The cash back earned can be transferred instantly to a SAFE checking or savings account or can be used to purchase more cards.
Some participating merchants include:
- Safeway
- CVS Pharmacy
