SAFE is ensuring that we make opening and servicing trust accounts as easy and seamless as possible. A new Deposit Servicing Team made up of experts in trust accounts will assist members directly over the phone so they can get business done quickly and conveniently.
Starting October 28, 2025, trust account appointments can be made on safecu.org or the SAFE Mobile App.
The Deposit Servicing Team will be ready to assist with:
- New account requests
- Trust amendment
- Adding or removing trustees
What to Expect During the Appointment
- We will ask you questions about your trust, so have your trust documents at hand for the call. We will provide a Certification of Trust for you to complete.
- Members can sign documents online through DocuSign.
- In some cases, notarization will be required. We’ll let you know and connect you with a SAFE notary. SAFE members enjoy notary services at no cost to their local SAFE branch.
Our branches and Contact Center will assist you with regular banking services on your trust accounts, including:
- Deposits
- Withdrawals
- Money transfers
- Issuing or ordering debit cards
- Online Banking maintenance
- Certificate rollovers

The Certification of Trust Existence and Authority is a document that outlines key details of your trust, including who is authorized to make decisions specifically for your trust accounts with SAFE. It is necessary to collect the information contained in this document to establish your trust account and it is required to obtain a notarized acknowledgement. SAFE will provide free notary service to assist you with this or you can get it notarized via a notary of your choice.
