This holiday season, SAFE Credit Union was so delighted to celebrate in the wonder of Sacramento Ballet’s Nutcracker with some amazing young people and volunteers.
SAFE invited matches from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area to attend a matinee performance of the beloved holiday show at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center.

Before the performance, Bigs and Littles enjoyed a VIP lunch and holiday treats from Sodexo Live! – the in-house culinary professionals at the SAFE Credit Union Convention & Performing Arts District. It was so much fun to watch the Littles get an exclusive visit with an up-and-coming Sacramento Ballet ballerina. Between balancing “en pointe” and demonstrating pliés, she discussed the behind-the-scenes dedication it takes to become a professional dancer.

Big Sister Alyssa Sibley and her Little Sister, Nareiah Dillon, shared their excitement in attending the performance together and told us what it meant to them to be able to attend.
“I love being able to do this kind of stuff,” Alyssa said before the show. “It’s not always accessible all of the time to us.”
For Nareiah, the experience seemed to deepen their bond. “I just like having the opportunity to be able to spend time with my Big Sister and to be able to do this together and to have fun.”

In 2019 SAFE Credit Union announced its 25-year, $23 million commitment and investment in the SAFE Credit Union Convention & Performing Arts District.
