At SAFE, we like to bring joy to our members and (hopefully) to their friends and family too through our Refer Your Friend program.*
When members refer their friends and family to SAFE, both the member and the person they refer can each receive $100 after the friend opens a SAFE checking account and meets certain criteria.
It’s easy to participate!
- Log in to your SAFE account in Online Banking or the SAFE Mobile App. Click on More and choose Refer a Friend.
- Enter the email account associated with your SAFE account and receive a unique link to share with your friends and family. The link is good for 90 days.
- Send the link to all your favorite people who you know would love banking with SAFE.
- When your friend uses the link to open a checking account with SAFE and makes 10 debit card purchases with 60 days of account opening, both of you will receive a $100 reward* emailed to you within 10 business days.

*Advocate: To qualify for a Refer Your Friend Program (Program) reward, the referring SAFE Credit Union member (Advocate) must be 18 years or older, a legal resident of the United States of America, in good standing with SAFE, provide their email for tracking, and have belonged to SAFE for at least one business day. Limit $1,000 in rewards per calendar year. A referred member (Friend) must comply with SAFE Program requirements for the Advocate to earn a reward. Friend: For the Advocate and Friend to earn rewards under the Program, the Friend must be 13 years or older; parent or guardian must establish account on behalf of minor age 13-17 and must be a joint owner on account, unless minor is 16-17 and has a state-issued ID or driver's license. Friend must also be a legal resident of the United States of America, enroll in the Program using the referral link provided by the Advocate, enter their email for tracking, and comply with all Program requirements. A referral is valid for 90 days from the date the Friend’s email address is provided, either by the Advocate through a referral email or by the Friend via a referral link. The Friend must not be an existing member of SAFE at the time of referral and must not enroll in the Program with the same email address as the Advocate. The Friend must use the same email they used to enroll in the Program when they fill out their checking account application. The Friend will receive a Program reward if (1) they open a SAFE checking account with a minimum of $25, and (2) within 60 days of account opening, have ten debit card merchant purchase transactions post to their SAFE checking account. Reward Fulfillment: Both Advocate and Friend must be SAFE members in good standing at time of reward disbursement. Rewards will be disbursed in the form of a Visa® Prepaid Card redemption emailed to the Advocate and Friend’s emails within ten business days after Program criteria are met. The Visa Prepaid Card must be redeemed within 12 months from the email send date. Once the card is redeemed, the funds will be available to use for 6 months. Neither SAFE nor any third-party providing Program services will have any liability to Advocate or Friend for failure to deliver prepaid card redemption emails due to invalid email addresses. Additional Terms: SAFE complies with applicable tax reporting requirements. Advocate and Friend are responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes on rewards. Not available on business or organizational accounts. SAFE checking account rates, fees, and terms can be viewed at www.safecu.org and will be provided prior to account opening.
