How Workplace Financial Wellness Benefits Employees

Feeling concerned about everyday expenses and personal budgets can be a common experience for many employees at all income levels. In the workplace, that unease can translate to lost productivity and workdays, higher turnover, health issues, and effects on relationships.

According to a PWC study, 60 percent of full-time employees reported that they are stressed about their finances. Even 47% of those who earn more than $100,000 say they have concerns about their budgets.

Many employers empathetically address their workers’ financial wellbeing by offering health insurance and savings accounts as well as retirement plans. While these benefits are greatly appreciated, 74% of employees surveyed in the PWC study also say they would like quality advice and guidance on making financial decisions and coping with the economic impacts of significant life events.

Workplace Financial Wellness is a no-cost program offered by SAFE to Sacramento-area employers and organizations to help their employees gain confidence in their personal finances through financial education workshops and webinars, one-on-one coaching, and corporate partnership.
